His humorous poems are also accompanied by simple illustrations in black and white, mostly drawn literally. What I love about this book is that the poems are short and simple, yet Silverstein is able to inject wit in each of them. There's an element of childhood mixed with silliness as he plays around with the words. Besides his pieces being funny, what makes it all the more interesting are the drawings.
This collection of poems is good for any age. Try taking things literally, and it might give you a good laugh.
